Why It Exists
You downloaded your data. It shouldn't stop there.
Platforms give you a ZIP. Inside it are folders, JSON files, and thousands of media files, with no easy way to make sense of them. Some platforms are also reducing what they store for free. Mochilada closes that gap by giving you one private, local place to preserve, browse, and organize your social media history — on your own Mac, not in someone else's cloud.
Who It's For
For people who want to keep what's theirs.
Years of memories, finally browsable.
You requested your data download but the ZIP was impossible to use. Mochilada turns those export files into a private library that actually makes sense.
One permanent place for every export.
You save everything on purpose. Mochilada gives you a real interface for those archives. They stay local, organized across platforms, and yours to keep.
How It Works
Getting started takes about three steps.
1
Export
Request your archive from Snapchat, Instagram, or Facebook. They email you a ZIP.
2
Add
Open Mochilada on your Mac and point it at the ZIP. No account password needed.
3
Browse
Your archive becomes a private library. Scroll through photos, find old messages, and revisit memories without touching a single folder or file.

Questions people ask.
What is Mochilada?
A Mac app for browsing your exported Snapchat, Instagram, and Facebook archives privately on your own device.
Does it upload my archive?
No. Everything is processed locally on your Mac.
Which exports does it support?
Right now it works with Snapchat, Instagram, and Facebook.
Does it connect to my accounts?
No. Mochilada works with archive files you download from the services yourself.
Is it a subscription?
No. It's CA$24.99 one-time at launch, with a regular price of CA$34.99 after that.
Snapchat is limiting free Memories storage. Does Mochilada help?
Yes. Snapchat gives users 5 GB of complimentary Memories storage, and older Memories above that limit are becoming harder to access over time. Downloading your archive and adding it to Mochilada keeps everything on your Mac, where storage is limited only by your own disk space. One purchase, no ongoing fees.
What if I lose access to my social account?
Your Mochilada archive stays on your Mac. That is why keeping a local copy matters. Your memories do not depend on your account staying active.
Does it modify my original files?
No. Mochilada reads your archive but never changes, moves, or deletes your original export files.
Is Mochilada affiliated with Snapchat, Instagram, or Facebook?
No. Mochilada is an independent product. It works with the export files those platforms provide to you, but is not affiliated with or endorsed by any of them.
Will it come to iPhone or iPad?
That's something we want to support. We're launching on Mac first and working out the mobile side carefully.
